Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Define several therapeutic outcomes of music for people dealing with cancer
- Demonstrate knowledge of several basic components of music that may affect a person’s physical, emotional and/or mental experience of cancer care
- Integrate newly acquired skills into a nursing care plan that can be accessibly integrated into daily nursing routines for various settings
- Reflect on the role of music in one’s own life, noticing subtle and overt ways in which music and sound impact daily life, mood, and well-being
- Consider creative ways to adapt the presented material for various care settings e.g. chemotherapy administration, or radiation treatment
